Mirabilia and Plans

Hi stitchers, I'm busy tomorrow so I thought I would do my weekly update today.

This week starts off with me frogin the top and bottom of the garden bed in Spring topiary garden as I didn't like how it looked.

Here is before the frog

And now

Next was Rose of Sharon

Before

And now

Now plans

I've been watching everyone's stitch maynia on flosstube. It's a new start everyday for 15 or 30 days, but same are doing Wips and new starts.

Got me thinking about when I did my 25 days of cross stitch in December 2017. I guess it was my maynia.

I fell in love with the idea people had of working on a past maynia wip, on the day they started. If it was finished, before the next maynia, they got to do a new start.

All this to say my rotation has changed a little.

I looked back on all 25 I stitched in December and so far only 2 are done.

I like the idea of working on my 25 less 2 Wips from now on. I guess you can now call it my year of Wips list too.

December this year I will do my 25 days of cross stitch again with the Wips still in there and new or older ones I put in on the days I finished a wip.

I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

So the Rose of Sharon has now been put away, but as you all like her I will stitch her in December as one of my new/ older Wips. And so I will have a list of 25 wip to work on in 2019, some old some new to my list and so on.  Do you get it.

I'm hoping it will also cut on my buying stash.

So that's my plans. I only have a few changes to rotation most are added charts.

Until next week Happy Stitching!

Busy Week

Hi stitchy friends.

It's been a busy week with life stuff, so not a lot of stitching, but still progress so that's good.

The Rose Of Sharon

Before

And now

New to rotation is a free weekend.
I can stitch on anything I want to on the weekends.
I have so many that I want to stitch but all my rotation projects are big so they are not moving that fast so 2 days I get to stitch whatever, and it can still be the weeks wip, or new or anything.

So that said and with what little time I had this weekend I got out my seahorse

Before

And now

My dad saw this and said my paint is running ha ha.

I'm not one to show stash much anymore as you get to see it when I start stitching them but I have two things I wanted to show you.

I got myself a lowery workstand, I will not be using it all the time but this week I did and it takes a little time to get used to after hand stitching. The great thing is I get to use my Q Snaps that have been sitting around doing nothing. It also doesn't take up to much room and it's a stand that I can get to the back of my stitching with, a big thing for me. Next on my list is a few Quantum Frames I want the big 100 one for my stitch in time and maybe the 60 or 70 one for the rest. One day.

Next I wanted to show you a chart I just got. I'm not a big fan of cloudsfactory charts but this one I just had to have and I want to stitch it today if I could. It's a bit pricey but... I still had to have it.

It's the new Epic storybook princesses.

There's two ways to stitch this, the one I'm showing and the other which has two spaces free for two more princesses to come. I will get them free as I got the full chart I'm going to stitch the spaces free one.

Here the chart

Better at cloudsfactory. Net if you want to see, it's so cute.

So that's it this week. Happy Stitching!!!

Trying to stitch

Hi, thanks for all your well wishes.

I've been sick on and off. Just as I get better, I get sick again, I feel like it's never ending. I'm hopeful it's now all over.

I've been coloring more then stitching as I lost my bug for a few days.

Still did a little

Here is mini pirate been stitching page 8

And I tried to get into stitching the Rose of Sharon but just couldn't so only a little grey got done. Sigh.

I feel like stitching again and I'm thinking a new start. Until my next post happy stitching!!!

Rose of Sharon

Hi all Hope you had a great Easter.
I know I did a little stitching but I don't really see it, maybe you will.

Here is rose, Ive been stitching on her dress again.

On other news. I forgot what its like to have a puppy. With Zac my last dog my dad did most of his training and he was more my dads dog but Jessie is so mine.
So Toilet training has been going well and she now goes outside it's now rare that she pees inside. I read that it will be until she is 6 months before she has total control of this but for 2 months she is doing great I think. She can now also sit when I tell her too which is great right now as I'm using her "sit" to stop her pulling my pants when I walk. lol So far its working. Now if I can find a way for her to be gentle when she is playing/ biting my fingers. I'm getting a few books from the library I hope will help. She is very playful and we think she is Maltese part cat. She loves playing on her back and it's so cute I hope she does not change this. I do not know a dog who plays on its back, until her. She has been keeping me busy I'm lucky if I get any stitching done.
We looked into puppy school but its $180 to $280 and we as a family think its too much when she knows half of what they teach you. Toilet training, sit, stay (I'm working on this now) She comes back when called so far. She can not see other dogs just yet in 2 weeks after the vets we can take her for her first walk which I think will be fun as she loves looking out the gate we have. Oh having a puppy is fun but also a lot of work, I forgot about all this but would not change it. I now love her.

I'm also thinking of buying this HEAD chart when there's a 50% sale.

Happy Stitching!!!

Happy stitching!!

Fixed with a little help

Sat I could not stitch but today was a really great stitching day, I have not had one in a long time.

See for yourself... I cut off her head as its getting long for the photo.

I fixed my miscount and re stitched with the help of (right now my favourite stitching tool) a long magnet strip that I used like a ruler. I think because it was cross, mis, cross, mis, 3 cross, mis and so on and the next line more of the same but over to the left or right, I started to look at the wrong line.

The magnet strip/ruler help me to focus on only the line I was stitching. What ever works right.
I think I will keep it close for now as I'm sure with this chart I will need it again.

It's been ages since I miscounted but oh well. Thanks for all your kind words, I'm happy to know it happens to others and not just me.

Here is a photo of my helper..

Next post will be for my 1st TUSAL, I already have the angel I will use all ready to take a photo.
Happy Stitching!!!!

The Rose Of Sharon, oh boy.

Well I have to say it has not been such a great stitching start to the new year for me so far.
Great for buying, not for stitching!

I've been so busy to stitch and when I find the time I mis count by one cross and you stitchers know if your out by one everything else that follows is too. So I've had to unpick a few crosses, only to find I did it again. I tell you right now I'm sure The Rose Of Sharon does not want to be stitch by me.
Saturday I will try again as I will not give up on it yet.

Here is where she's at:

To make me feel better I got the new January Cross Stitch Gold as I would love to stitch this chart

Peacock Princess.
It is now on my very big list of to be stitched.

I'm thinking of doing a new page on my blog with all the magazine charts I want to one day stitch, I think I have a few. Well Happy Stitching!!!

What's stitching 2015

Opps I did write this post 27th Dec but it's from a draft so sorry it's came up with 4 days ago.

Hi, I hope you all had a great Christmas.

First I would like to say a big thank you to all of you that have left me a comment or become a follower this year. I might not reply to you but I love all your feedback to my stitching. I hope you will leave me many more in 2015.

So what's on for 2015?

I have 3 charts that must be stitched in 2015.
They are gifts but I will still get to show you as I stitch them because they don't look at my blog.

Over Christmas I stitched on all 3 so here they are:

The Rose Of Sharon

Here is what she looks like as of today

Sleep Time (New Start)

And So far

Story keep Seasons Spring

So Far (New Start)

I also hope to get the PR Sal all stitched up in 2015

This is what it looks like so far

Now as you know I'm not doing the stitch from stash sal in 2015 but I did want to join a sal, something fun and easy and so for 2015 I'm doing

TUSAL by itsdaffycat@blogspot.com.au
Just put your cut off thread in a vase or jar and take a photo by the date every month.
My photo's will also have angels or fairies I have around the house it's where I got my blog name from. So I hope you all don't mind if I post a vase of thread every month, after I post the thread will go into the bin and I start again. I just have to remember not to put them in the bin before the photo.

So that's the plan for 2015 and everything else I stitch or start is a bonus.
Happy stitching!! And see you all in the new year.

Stitch From Stash November

I know this is a bit early but with the way November has been going for me I thought I would post stitch from stash now.

Start of the month I stitched The rose of Sharon which I'm going to give as a 80th birthday gift next November 2015. Right now I could only stitch a little as I could not get into her.

See that's the thing this month I want to stitch but.... I found I just sit there and looked at my stitching not do it.

So next I got out my QS April Fairy and did a little on her

It's not much if you go back to my last post of her.

I thought a new start would help, see I want to stitch I just could not find what.

The new start is Faces Of Faery 164 Which will look like this one day

As you can see not much before I put this one away again too

(I'm not sure which way is up in the photo sorry)

Got out PR Sal and yay I found it, I found the one I want to stitch and not just look at. Happy Dance!!!!
Step 11 is all stitched as of tonight but for the beads.

With all this going on I've been playing bubble Witch 2 thinking I need time away from the cross stitch but I kept going back for more. So it's been fun and games. I think I will keep going on the PR Sal, maybe it's because it's like stitching little one's and not one big chart, I don't know.

Last posting I was telling you about my friend who is down on her luck and I was looking for something to stitch her. Well update, I got together pictures of anything and everything I would stitch and got her to pick one out of maybe 20 pictures, showed her the 3 I've shown you and she want for something I never would have picked for her.

Storykeep Seasons Spring

She told me it's calming and looks like it tells a story. I have to say it is pretty. So I will wait until HEAD has a christmas sale on and hope to stitch it next year.
The best thing is she still has no idea why I'm asking her to pick a picture. I've told her she will have to see next year so it will be a true gift that she does not know anything about.

That's it for now If I get another PR Sal box done I will post again or I will just go back to bubble witch 2 which is a very good game. Happy stitching

Stitch From Stash September

The story of September is I had a plan.... Ya right like they always work out ....not.

My plan was to stitch and only stitch the PR sal all of September....

I got the top all stitched up

Step 4

Step 8

And almost Step 10 as you can see here...

Now beading I always do last as I find the thread hooks onto the beads as I'm stitching.

So back to the story. I found out about the free Joan Elliott fairy (See her blog if you have not got it yet)
and thought I would start stitching my wip Autumn Fairy.

Before

After

Then I got sick for a day or so, think it was something I ate. I could not stitch so started to put the DMC threads onto cards as I do, so much easier to use this way

For Earwen, lots of gray in her

The Rose of Sharon

So now I want to stitch The Rose Of Sharon Stitching on 18ct "Dirty" Aida
There is not much because then I hurt my back, nothing mayor just hurt for a few days. I did lots of walking and put on lots of heat cream. It took 3 days to just do her hair because it hurt to sit and stitch.

So because I could not stitch I started to look at the cross stitch mags I have and charts I've kept over the years. I have so many mag's that has a Joan Elliott fairy/angel in it.

As I was looking at charts one jumped out at me, I kept it for a gift and so now I'm stitching it for Christmas, it will go to a good home. It's from  Cross Stitch Collection Issue 223 June 2013 and called A Chaffinch In Summer.

Here is what it will look like:

And So Far... I'm stitching on white 14ct Aida.

Hope to do more this weekend.
So thats the story of September so far.... I hope the rest is better.
I will say I'm all better and back stitching again.
I almost forgot Amount Spend: $5.00 Thought I had all the DMC for my bird but no. Everything Fabric most threads I had in my stash.
So Happy Stitching!!!
