Halloween Finish Or Two

Hi stitchy friends, thank you for all your birthday wishes and comments.

This week daylight savings started. Which means the clock went forward 1 hour.

 It's been hard getting used to, all that sun for longer and it's also been hard getting up in the mornings when I just want to sleep more. I hate the 1st/2nd week when the time changes. You get used to it but it takes a while.

I stayed with my plan from last week. Are you all in stock ha ha.

I finished Wicked by Barbara Ana Designs

The box with the date took forever to stitch. I'm happy with how it looks.

Next I got out Wanda's Witchery by mill hill 

Every time I get this one out, I feel like I was wrong to stitch it on fabric and ivory fabric at that. I've started this 3 times now I think and don't want to start it again. I do a little then put it away. It's one I'm not sure about but don't want to start all over again so just keep stitching.

Next was Halloween greetings fae wip, by Passione Ricamo

The black in her dress has rainbow gallery, so does a little of the purple and that little bit of orange. 

I think I've said this before but I hate using rainbow gallery, give me kreinik any day. Rainbow gallery is so thin that you have to blend it with the dmc, it breaks very easy and when it knots, it's hard to undo. Kreinik on the other hand is not thin, so can use without blending. When it knots it's easy to undo and I don't have many breaking on me. I would change over for this project but I've already got the rainbow gallery and I'm not going to be using it on anything else. I don't want to waste my money by not using it. 

Today I got another finish in Dracula by mill hill and he's so cute

I still have lots of Halloween charts, Wips to stitch but I have to say my mermaid Sal is calling me. Maybe in November the Sal will be the first one I stitch on. We will see.

Halloween Stitching Has Started

Hi my stitchy friends, thanks for all your nice comments to my posts new and old.

It's October and that means Halloween stitching. 

Started of with a mill hill kit

Then a new start o Halloween Tree by Barbara Ana

It's on 18ct Aida gold digger by colour cascade fabrics.

Had to stitch the witch before moving on.

Had my birthday this week. My plans didn't happen so it ended up being just another day.

I did get a choc mint cake, was so yum.

I was feeling a little down so what's a girl to do.... Shop of course, spend all that birthday money.

I went online to sew it all and got lots of fabric, mostly Aida but also evenweave.

 I got 2 evenweaves for 2 heaven and earth charts that I want to start. I want to re start welcome to the forest as right now it's on white but there's a lot of white in it. Im hopeful that the new fabric will work. I also got a lot of fabric for Christmas charts. I don't have many Christmas projects in my Wips and I have a few charts I would like to start.

I also went to 123stitch and got more charts, fabric, kreinik, beads, things I needed for the charts I have going. 

I'm also waiting on a colour cascade fabric order I made in September and I'm in her monthly subscription.

 so I have lots of cross stitch goodies to come in the mail. 

Next up I got back to my wip Wicked by Barbara Ana

I'm thinking of staying with wicked this week and see if I can get it done. I still want to stitch on it. I have so many charts with keys in them.

7 New Starts In 7 Days

Hi stitchers, how was your week? Thanks for all your comments, it was nice to hear how you stored your dmc threads. Don't forget time is ticking away for my giveaway! So put your name down.

As I hunted down all my dmc from my projects last week, I saw all the projects I have just waiting to be started. 

Got me thinking what am I waiting for? And plus they are taking up space.

So call me crazy but I thought as I can't stay on any one project right now, why not start 7 new ones.

And I had fun!!! I loved it. 

My week of new starts begins.

Sunday I got out a kit, that I'm always picking up and putting back down. Do you have that?

It's a Vervaco kit called butterfly fairy and I'm stitching with all the kit. Pale purple 14 count Aida is not bad for a kit.

And her arm, it's a bit pale but I haven't put in the darker colors yet.

The only problem with this kit is the chart, it's the size of Jessie's dog bed, no really. It's big and I don't make copies of charts. Have to be careful with it.

Monday A chart To the beach and back, by needle bling designs, stitched on 16 count lambs wool Aida. I'm going to use a few charms I got in a stitchy box on this one too.

Tuesday was Welcome to the forest, by country cottage needle works, stitched on 18 count white Aida. I'm also stitching this different from others I've seen. I'm not going two by two down but 3 to the left and 3 to the right of the banner, I'm going to join all the grass together and I'm not stitching the borders. It will be one long picture. 

Wednesday was Wicked by Barbara Ana designs, stitched on 18 count ivory Aida. Not much tonight as I was watching tv more then stitching. Great tv night for me Wednesday's.

Thursday A Mirabilia Renaissance mermaid (she's in my mermaid bag now) stitched on 16 count Aida oceans tide by fabrics by Stephanie. Love this fabric. Photo doesn't show fabric that true, it's a little darker in spots not all one color.

Was not sure about the blue kreinik but it will work, looks better in person.

Friday was Stitching in quilt by Cuoree e batticuore, stitched 16 count Mello Aida. This one I can't wait to get back to.

And the border around the first block. So many hearts.

Saturday was ornamental joy by country cottage needleworkes. Stitched on a scrap Aida by stitches and spice way back when. 14 count I think. Again photo bad it's more gold brown with bits of pink, and it's a opal.

That was my stitchy week. 

I also got stitchy kindness in the mail this week from Kay. Thank you again.

I have plans for the light blue Aida fabric already. I'm using the pin cushion which she made me. Wow just wow. That you took the time. Thank you!!!

7 new starts in 7 days part 2.

In September I must stitch on my pirate heaven and earth if I'm to get it finished this year. Maybe that's all I will stitch in September. We will see.

New Start, Finished

Hi Stitchy friends.

Today I finished my new start. I don't know why it took so long to stitch. I was hoping for only 3 days until done but it didn't work out that way, which is ok.

Barbara Ana Designs owl-o-ween scissor fob.

I'm not doing it as a scissor fob but maybe a pillow.

It's on 16 count Aida Haunted by picture this plus.

The writing looks better then in the photo, don't know why it's not really showing up better.

That's it for now.

 What to stitch now? Maybe another small new start and finish, we will see.

This week was to be my pirate but I'm finding lately that I'm going back to my old ways before my rotation. That's pick a project I want to stitch and stitch it until done or I get bored with it and pick another. The last few finished, I've not wanted to stop stitching until they were done. I didn't want to work on anything else or move on as a rotation is all about. So I'm just going to go with it. I do know my words week will stay the first week of every month but the rest can always be moved around or changed. See where my stitching takes me.

So let it snow is what I'm stitching this week and maybe I can show another finish soon. I'm loving getting my Wips done.
