What's stitching 2015

Opps I did write this post 27th Dec but it's from a draft so sorry it's came up with 4 days ago.

Hi, I hope you all had a great Christmas.

First I would like to say a big thank you to all of you that have left me a comment or become a follower this year. I might not reply to you but I love all your feedback to my stitching. I hope you will leave me many more in 2015.

So what's on for 2015?

I have 3 charts that must be stitched in 2015.
They are gifts but I will still get to show you as I stitch them because they don't look at my blog.

Over Christmas I stitched on all 3 so here they are:

The Rose Of Sharon

Here is what she looks like as of today

Sleep Time (New Start)

And So far

Story keep Seasons Spring

So Far (New Start)

I also hope to get the PR Sal all stitched up in 2015

This is what it looks like so far

Now as you know I'm not doing the stitch from stash sal in 2015 but I did want to join a sal, something fun and easy and so for 2015 I'm doing

TUSAL by itsdaffycat@blogspot.com.au
Just put your cut off thread in a vase or jar and take a photo by the date every month.
My photo's will also have angels or fairies I have around the house it's where I got my blog name from. So I hope you all don't mind if I post a vase of thread every month, after I post the thread will go into the bin and I start again. I just have to remember not to put them in the bin before the photo.

So that's the plan for 2015 and everything else I stitch or start is a bonus.
Happy stitching!! And see you all in the new year.

Stitch From Stash December

My last post for Stitch From Stash.

I'm not joining next year as I have plans to buy a lot of threads and fabric for charts I have and want to stitch next year.

I'm glad I was in the group this year. It made me think and ask myself "Do I really need that?" Most of the time, the next day when I went back to the chart or kit it was a no. So I know I saved money this year and that's why I joined. I also got a free chart out of it so not bad.
I wish everyone who join's in 2015 all the best.

I've been so busy with non stitching stuff, I don't have much to show you. I did need away from my needle for a while so it's all good.

I've been stitching a Santa by Joan Elliott, it was from a bonus book last year with cross stitch crazy mag. I've put it into a coaster I found in my stash. Now I can have a little bit of christmas all year round.
I've changed the greens to what I had in my threads and the Kreinik from 028 to 102 as I think it looks better, I'm more a silver girl at heart.

This month I've spent $50 on the 3 charts and threads for the storykeep.

I don't think I will be posting until after Christmas so I wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
I hope it's a good one with lots of family and friends.
 Happy Stitching!!!

Stitch From Stash November

I know this is a bit early but with the way November has been going for me I thought I would post stitch from stash now.

Start of the month I stitched The rose of Sharon which I'm going to give as a 80th birthday gift next November 2015. Right now I could only stitch a little as I could not get into her.

See that's the thing this month I want to stitch but.... I found I just sit there and looked at my stitching not do it.

So next I got out my QS April Fairy and did a little on her

It's not much if you go back to my last post of her.

I thought a new start would help, see I want to stitch I just could not find what.

The new start is Faces Of Faery 164 Which will look like this one day

As you can see not much before I put this one away again too

(I'm not sure which way is up in the photo sorry)

Got out PR Sal and yay I found it, I found the one I want to stitch and not just look at. Happy Dance!!!!
Step 11 is all stitched as of tonight but for the beads.

With all this going on I've been playing bubble Witch 2 thinking I need time away from the cross stitch but I kept going back for more. So it's been fun and games. I think I will keep going on the PR Sal, maybe it's because it's like stitching little one's and not one big chart, I don't know.

Last posting I was telling you about my friend who is down on her luck and I was looking for something to stitch her. Well update, I got together pictures of anything and everything I would stitch and got her to pick one out of maybe 20 pictures, showed her the 3 I've shown you and she want for something I never would have picked for her.

Storykeep Seasons Spring

She told me it's calming and looks like it tells a story. I have to say it is pretty. So I will wait until HEAD has a christmas sale on and hope to stitch it next year.
The best thing is she still has no idea why I'm asking her to pick a picture. I've told her she will have to see next year so it will be a true gift that she does not know anything about.

That's it for now If I get another PR Sal box done I will post again or I will just go back to bubble witch 2 which is a very good game. Happy stitching

Dusting

Hi, I was dusting off some of my cross stitch Saturday that I keep under a desk and I found my very 1st kit that I ever stitched way back. I put it  with a few others that I did around the same time.
I started cross stitching in high school when it was the end of the year, all the school work was done so I had a choice of playing sport (which I hate) or sewing. You can guess what I want for. It was a little christmas tree that I never did get stitched and with only very little time to learn. School holidays in a craft store my mum got me my 1st kit and I was hooked. I have come so far looking back at what I stitched back then. No one in my family or circle of friends stitch. I did try once but it did not go anywhere.

I was dusting because I plan to sell a few and a friend is going to help me do that. I thought I would show you before they leave my house.. or that's my hope.

I've been stitching Mini Pirate, I was hoping to stitch the page but I can not look at anymore red and orange. I've been sitting there and just looking at it not stitching. So I've put it away again.

Now I'v got out Rose of sharon and I will take a photo when I do the stitch from stash post.

Oh and what do you all think about this chart from XS Collectibles for my friend. It's full of color, and no I have not got it yet but I'm thinking about it. Be great stitched on black. Tell me what you guys think.

I did not get the name of it opps I don't even know the size my bad....

Happy stitching

A little help please?

Hi, First I would like to show you Zac's frame.

It's not a good photo but you see it.

Now I need help....
See I'm friends with a lady who has been a bit down on her luck for a while and I would like to stitch her something.
Today I got to see her and asked what she is into. eg Angels, Fantasy, Oriental, animals. She told me colors.... mmmmm. She told me no one has asked her this question and she will think on it but in the meantime colors is all I have to work with. I don't what to stitch something big like most heaven and earth but I looked anyway here is what I've got so far

Iris Keeper Storykeep

Enchanted Manor Storykeep

Or a Free Fractal bookmark from XS Collectibles which I don't have yet, but I also don't think this idea will work.

Oh and no I don't have the charts above from HEAD. Just looking so far.

So I need help with idea's? Got any? Please
Happy stitching!!

Stitch From Stash October

It's been hard without my dog Zac. All the little things. Like the door bell, it was never used until now. I'm still watching were I walk around the house as he use to be right in the middle of a room and you always had to step over him. I''m still walking and so many people have asked me where my dog is and it's like who are you yet they know Zac's name. I'm sick of people asking me when we are going to get another one. It's tooooo soon people.

Cross stitch has helped in a big way for me.

i've been stitching A Chaffinch In Summer and got it all done and even framed.

Before the backstitch

All Done and with beads

I also got my wip The Good Life out and finished it.  It's been a Wip for about a year. I''m going to put it with a photo of Zac that I love.

Where I stopped stitching it

Before backstitch

All done

So now it's getting framed.

All the above was 14ct fabric so when I started stitching the PR Sal Steps 10 and 6 it was weird,
18ct is so small after 14ct, it took time to get use to again.

Again no beads yet.

It was also my birthday on the 5th October and as it was only 5 days after Zac...... I did not feel like doing anything but I did get same very nice gifts.

# Money
# Chocolate
# Pandora bracelet and the 3 charms

# Secondhand book by Joan Elliott one I don't have so that was cool

# And I got a chart I've been after for many years it's called Once bitten and if I had the money I would buy everything for it and start as soon as I could. Maybe next year.

Soo even thou it was/is a sad time I did very well for my birthday.

Before I forget I did not spend any money for stash.

Being October I would also like to wish everyone

Happy Halloween! And that's it for this post.

Sad News

On the 30th September 2014 my family and I had to put our dog Zac to sleep. It's been very hard as he was so much a part of this family. He was not sick. He went for a run at the park like he does and he pulled a tendon on his front leg, and he did not have any feeling in his foot. His foot was also very cold. Vet could have amputated his leg but he had 2 bad back legs to began with, and he could not cope with 3 legs. He was home for 2 days after and just seeing the pain in his eyes and not being able to help him. It was best for him to let him go. God it's hard. I've been stitching like mad and watching DVD's to help me but I want him back so bad. He was 10 years old and he was everywhere in this house and even outside in the streets and shops. He had a GPS on him, he told us where to walk not us. He had a watch on him after breakfast and at 4pm it was time for his walk and he would come get you if you forgot. I will never look at chicken again without thinking about him as he would get the bits we don't eat. So many things. He was one of a kind and I will never forget him.

This was one of the last photo's we took of my Friend, my little bear ZAC.

I will miss you always.

Stitch From Stash September

The story of September is I had a plan.... Ya right like they always work out ....not.

My plan was to stitch and only stitch the PR sal all of September....

I got the top all stitched up

Step 4

Step 8

And almost Step 10 as you can see here...

Now beading I always do last as I find the thread hooks onto the beads as I'm stitching.

So back to the story. I found out about the free Joan Elliott fairy (See her blog if you have not got it yet)
and thought I would start stitching my wip Autumn Fairy.

Before

After

Then I got sick for a day or so, think it was something I ate. I could not stitch so started to put the DMC threads onto cards as I do, so much easier to use this way

For Earwen, lots of gray in her

The Rose of Sharon

So now I want to stitch The Rose Of Sharon Stitching on 18ct "Dirty" Aida
There is not much because then I hurt my back, nothing mayor just hurt for a few days. I did lots of walking and put on lots of heat cream. It took 3 days to just do her hair because it hurt to sit and stitch.

So because I could not stitch I started to look at the cross stitch mags I have and charts I've kept over the years. I have so many mag's that has a Joan Elliott fairy/angel in it.

As I was looking at charts one jumped out at me, I kept it for a gift and so now I'm stitching it for Christmas, it will go to a good home. It's from  Cross Stitch Collection Issue 223 June 2013 and called A Chaffinch In Summer.

Here is what it will look like:

And So Far... I'm stitching on white 14ct Aida.

Hope to do more this weekend.
So thats the story of September so far.... I hope the rest is better.
I will say I'm all better and back stitching again.
I almost forgot Amount Spend: $5.00 Thought I had all the DMC for my bird but no. Everything Fabric most threads I had in my stash.
So Happy Stitching!!!
